Back to basics, changing names, and highway running. US SOUTHERN TOUR IN AUGUST!
(photo by the splendid Tom Dunning)
Hello, folks! Here is some more news headed your way.
In order to dodge being confused with century old theologians and related fare, John is now going by his full name and dropping the one-two to go three names strong. John Calvin Abney is the name you'll see in releases and promotion here on out.
John will be releasing his LP, "Better Luck" in late fall on vinyl, CD, and digital distribution.
Fellow bandmate Kyle Reid will be releasing his LP, "Alright, Here We Go..." on 12'' and CD, too, so as always, keep an ear to the ground and an eye to the sky for more good news and melodies.
In a bout of supermoon madness and the echoing of a lonesome sound, John Moreland has started work on his new record also, including J.C.A, Jarod Tyler, and Jesse Aycock as instrumentalists. JM's songs are as profound as ever and the studio environment has been nothing short of wonderful. If you haven't heard of John Moreland, then you're doing yourself a disservice. Go immerse yourself in his tunes (his last record "In The Throes",) and his labelmates on Last Chance Records.
Come see John as he rolls through your town in the US South this August:
