SOLO US TOUR IN AUTUMN: with M. Lockwood Porter with additional dates supporting John Moreland

Hey, West Coast friends. I am howling through the mountains and the deserts with long-time pal M. Lockwood Porter the entire month of November. I’ll have Coyote and some other special records in tow with me, and I'll be performing brand new songs from a yet-to-be-recorded solo LP.

Additionally, I'll be opening up for ever-rocksteady John Moreland in the southern US at the end of October!

New limited 7" split vinyl with Samantha Crain and an update for autumn solo performances.

For the first release of the Clerestory split 7” series, Samantha Crain recorded a stunning version of the traditional song “Wild Mountain Thyme”, and John Calvin Abney covered the John Hartford classic “First Girl I Loved”. Both songs were collaborative, with John adding guitar and other instrumentation to Samantha’s track, and Samantha providing background vocals for John’s track. Recorded in Oklahoma City at Stowaway Recording, the songs came together easily and calmly in the springtime of 2018. John has a whole set of shows coming up in the month of October including:

Besides touring with John Moreland, JCA has also begun writing the finishing touches for his next full length record, which he will be recording in December as the winter falls. Stay tuned here for more updates and always take care of you and yours in this wild world.
